The Stunning Cunning Band is dedicated to bringing Rockabilly to a new generation.  They play a mix of Rockabilly, Early Rock, R&B, Traditional Country and Blues that has a groove that'll make you move.

The band performs with great vitality and is fronted by the charismatic Brandon Cunning on guitar and lead vocals.  Brandon is an energetic showman whose acrobatic stage moves and musical skills reflect the influence of Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly and Brian Setzer.

Steve Clark on stand up bass; Rick McFarland on drums; and Brian Stuhr on guitar make up the driving rhythm section.

Cunning said, "I've been playing Rockabilly since 1993.  In February 2007, faced with a regional lack of interest in 50's rock and roll, I decided to relocate from my hometown of Washington, Pennsylvania, (near Pittsburgh) to Memphis, Tennessee, the birthplace of Rock and Roll."

After four years in his adopted city, Brandon Cunning is making a great impression on the music scene.  That's no small feat, considering that Memphis is the cradle of Rockabilly.

The combo has played in over 40 night spots in the Memphis area including Blues City Cafe, Huey's Restaurant and the Hard Rock Cafe.  They've performed live on Memphis television and have played for the runners before the start of the 2010 St. Jude Memphis Marathon.

In the summer of 2008, Brandon's band backed up the legendary Smoochy Smith at the Annual Rockabilly Festival in Jackson, Tennessee.  Smoochy played piano for The Mar-Keys and co-wrote their 1961 hit "Last Night," a million seller.

The Stunning Cunning Band got the chance to work with another Sun Rockabilly artist--Newport's own Sonny Burgess in January 2011--at the first Elvis Birthday Bash.  The band played at a similar birthday celebration honoring the memory of Carl Perkins in Jackson, Tennessee in April 2011.

Burgess, whose Sun label hits included "We Wanna Boogie," "Red Headed Woman," and "My Bucket's Got A Whole In It" was so impressed with The Stunning Cunning Band that he booked them to perform at the first Arkansas Delta Rockabilly Festival in Helena, AR.
